Whether you need a compact matrix processor for a small conference room or a larger one for a multi-purpose venue, the AHM series has something to offer. Our comprehensive guide has all the information you need to get the most out of your Allen & Heath AHM series equipment.

Meet the AHM Family

The AHM series includes three models: the AHM-64, AHM-32, and AHM-16. All of the models feature Dante connectivity with the addition of an optional card, which allows for easy integration with other audio devices, as well as flexible mixing capabilities. The series offers a wide range of features, including flexible routing matrixes, digital source control, advanced digital effects, and the most comprehensive Dante networking and remote control features.

Each model in the series offers different levels of scalability and functionality. The AHM-64 is an excellent solution for the most demanding integrators. The series’ top-of-the-line model boasts a 64×64 processing matrix, which means it includes a massive 64 inputs and outputs. The AHM-64 is ideal for large-scale audio installations, such as theaters and stadiums. The AHM-32 is an excellent addition to any multi-zone installation. It offers 32 inputs and outputs, making it perfect for multi-room installations in hospitality, corporate, and education environments. The AHM-16 is the smallest of the three models, with 16 inputs and outputs, making it a great choice for smaller environments such as bars, restaurants, shops, and school halls.

Features and Benefits of the AHM Series

Allen & Heath has engineered the AHM series with a variety of features and benefits that make it ideal for today’s sound systems. Each model in the series is equipped with networking and remote control capabilities, allowing users to easily control and configure their systems.

Allen & Heath products are known for their sound quality. All AHM processors use FPGA technology with a sample rate of 96kHz. These audio engines boast greater processing abilities than open architecture systems, with 8-band PEQ, gate, compressor, and delay capabilities. Latency is reduced to almost a millisecond.

One of the standout features of the AHM series is the ability to mix audio from a variety of sources. The AHM-64, for example, can mix audio from microphones, line inputs, and network inputs, making it a versatile solution for conference rooms and other multi-purpose spaces. The AHM-32 and AHM-16 offer similar mixing capabilities, with the ability to mix audio from microphones, line inputs, and network inputs.

The AHM series also has advanced features that make it easy to use and customize to your specific needs. The UI is intuitive and user-friendly, with easy-to-use controls and real-time visual feedback. The AHM series also offers the ability to save and recall custom configurations, making it easy to switch between different setups as needed.

What Types of Installations Work Best for the AHM Series?

One of the key applications for the AHM series is in conference rooms and meeting spaces. The AHM-64, for example, can be used to mix audio from multiple microphones and other audio sources in a large conference room. It can also be used to route audio to different zones within the conference room, allowing attendees to hear the audio clearly no matter where they are seated. The AHM-32 is a good choice for mid-sized conference rooms, while the AHM-16 is well-suited for small conference rooms and huddle spaces.

The AHM series is also a popular choice for houses of worship. The AHM-64, for example, can be used to mix audio from microphones, instruments, and other audio sources during worship services. It can also be used to route audio to different zones within the worship space, such as the main sanctuary and overflow areas. The AHM-32 and AHM-16 offer similar capabilities for smaller worship spaces.

Acoustic Echo Cancellation

High quality audio is a key component of any meeting and conference. Nothing can kill a meeting’s productivity more than bad audio, especially when there’s an echo coming from any of the remote participants.

Usually, this echo comes from mics picking up the caller’s voice being played over the speakers in the conference room. The Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) module can automatically detect this echo, along with any other residual effects caused by the acoustics in the room, and filter the “bad” audio out.

The AEC module is available for both the AHM-64 and the AHM-32, and can be set up using the intuitive AHM System Manager software.

Which AHM Model Is Right for You?

When it comes to deciding which AHM model is right for you, there are a few key factors to consider. The size of your venue or space is an important consideration, as you’ll want to choose a model with the appropriate number of inputs and outputs. You’ll also want to think about the specific audio sources you’ll be mixing, as well as any additional features or capabilities you may need, such as Dante connectivity or the ability to save and recall custom configurations. Ultimately, the right AHM model for you will depend on your specific needs and requirements.
