Your Teams meetings will sound better than ever.

It’s fair to say that audio is having a moment. While the early 2000’s saw everyone paying attention to rapidly improving video quality, audio has come roaring back. Podcasts are more popular than ever and continue to grow, social media companies are emphasizing audio-only content, even records have come raging onto the scene again. It was only natural that with the rise of video conferencing in 2020, people and businesses would quickly look for ways to make sure they had the best audio possible.

Shure has a long and storied history in the world of audio, producing some of the most iconic microphones the world has ever seen. And their products go far beyond the mics used by your favorite bands or comedians. Shure has worked hard to make the working lives of everyone simpler and more productive. Some of their top microphones, processors, and even loudspeakers are now certified for Microsoft Teams. Here’s why that’s a big deal, and how you can use the Shure Audio Experience to make your Teams Meetings better than ever.

What Is Microsoft Teams Certification?

Microsoft Teams is a communications platform developed by Microsoft and launched worldwide in 2017. Teams offers a comprehensive solution for businesses who want to provide a space for employees to chat, share files, hold video meetings, and more. The software saw a spike in awareness and popularity during 2020 due to the pandemic. While there was a lot of talk about Zoom Weddings, Zoom Baby Showers, and various other Zoom gatherings, the business world largely embraced Microsoft Teams and its suite of powerful tools.

So what does it mean to say that a product is certified for Microsoft Teams? Well, according to Microsoft, devices certified for Teams offer a “no-compromise” experience. In other words, they work just like you would expect them to, without any extra configuration.

Shure Products Certified for Microsoft Teams

Shure has a product portfolio that includes everything you need in your audio signal chain, from the microphone to the DSP and even loudspeakers. And the entire Microflex Ecosystem is now Teams-Certified.

The Microflex MXN5W-C Networked Loudspeaker has a low-profile design that is optimized for easy installation while providing high-quality speech reproduction. Just a single cable provides Dante audio, control, and PoE or PoE+ power.

The Intellimix P300 Audio Conferencing Processor enhances every aspect of your conference audio. It cancels out any echo, reduces noise, and has automatic mixing and gain control. The P300 is small enough to be mounted underneath a table or behind a display, and is also easy to set up.

For the microphones, the MXA310 Table Array Microphone and the MXA920 Ceiling Array Microphone are both Teams-Certified. The MXA310 is small and discreet, able to sit on a table and pick up everyone’s voices without taking up too much space. Steerable Coverage™ and built-in automatic mixing allow for everyone’s voice in the room to be captured with pinpoint accuracy, and the Shure-exclusive “toroid” polar pattern helps cut out unwanted sounds by capturing only the audio at table-level.

The MXA920 is much bigger than the MXA310, but it manages to be even more discreet by being installed in the ceiling. The MXA920 features both Automatic Coverage™ technology that requires no setup out of the box, along with next-generation array architecture for enhanced directional pickup and speech that sounds more natural.

IntelliMix® Room is also Teams-Certified. IntelliMix Room is a software-based audio processing system that doesn’t require DSP hardware, meaning installs are easy. And with the new AI Denoiser your meetings will sound better than ever, without any distracting audio noises.

The MXA710 Linear Array Microphone Is Now Certified for Microsoft Teams

Shure announced in May 2021 that the MXA710 Linear Array Microphone was now certified for Microsoft Teams. Like the MXA310 and the MXA920, the MXA710 was designed for high-quality audio in your conference rooms or meeting spaces. It can be mounted to a wall next to a display, placed on a cabinet, or even flush-mounted in a table. Steerable Coverage technology, onboard IntelliMix, and Autofocus technology are included.

The MXA710 comes in two different sizes. The 2-foot length is ideal for smaller spaces with up to 7-8 people, while the 4-foot length can handle larger rooms that seat up to 18 people. And the best part about Shure’s audio ecosystem is that you can add multiple microphones and speakers to get the perfect coverage for your specific room.

Have Better, More Productive Meetings

Shure has been a trusted name in audio for nearly 100 years, and their Microflex products have been improving conference rooms for years. Of course, Microsoft continues to be a juggernaut in the world of computers, especially in a business setting. Many companies already had these Shure products installed in their conference rooms or were using Microsoft Teams to conduct their business. Now, it’s easier than ever to get the best of both worlds.

It’s as simple as plug-and-play.
