Technical Specialist
Do you get excited about AV products and can’t wait to tell people about them? Are you able to explain complex subjects in a clear and interesting way? Are you extremely knowledgeable about all things AV and possess solid technical aptitude? Can you play nice with humans and gear? In other words, if your friends and family refer to you as the “gear head,” this job might be for you. As a Technical Specialist, you will ultimately support the sales team with product presentations, training, and demonstrations to dealers and their customers in all Florida territories.
Your day includes:
- Install, program, and maintain equipment in the experience center & keep in working order
- Perform demos of the various technologies in the experience center for visitors
- Set up mockup demonstrations for customers
- Design and build sample kits
- Manage and track incoming and outgoing samples
- Organize and facilitate events / clinics
- Assist dealers with programming (and possibly design)
- Develop solutions with a variety of products (mainly commercial applications, some retail)
- Maintain product knowledge through research and training
- Attend tradeshows and manufacturer trainings
- Provide technical support.
- Assist in creating content (written and video) for Mainline Marketing website, socials, and newsletters
You definitely:
- Are highly technical, with hands-on working knowledge of products that are used in commercial and professional audio and video applications (programming DSP, operating live sound mixing consoles, calibrating displays, setup and edge blending for projection, etc.)
- Can design state-of-the art presentations using PowerPoint, Prezi, etc.
- Have outstanding communication skills and are comfortable speaking to crowds
- Have the skills needed to keep yourself organized and on track
- Know how to use MS Office products
- Reside in the greater Orlando area
Extra awesome if you:
- Know something about IT networking
- Have A/V design experience (AutoCAD, EASE, D-Tools)
- Have experience with live events and knowledge of those applications
- Have experience with meeting room technology and platforms (Teams, Zoom, Webex, etc.)
- Have experience with programming control systems, HTML, JavaScript, and/or UX design
- Have certifications from trade organizations or manufacturers (Dante, DSP, video, live sound consoles, speakers, etc.)
